Keenan Johnston While re-recordings of a band's previous works have rarely proven worthwhile, USBM wizards Demoncy succeed with this outstanding rejuvenation of their 2003 LP. Disenchanting the original into its components and infusing it with the black malice of the classic Joined in Darkness LP, the result is a slower, downtuned and thoroughly ominous release that also brings back the tainted whispers that were discarded in favour of a more orthodox vocal approach. Simply put, a superior album. Favorite track: Warmarch To The Black Hordes.

xhrl_ This classic LP not only rides again, but it has a new vitality! The re-created older tracks feature much better vocals & production, giving the guitars greater power & fitting songs together more tightly. Much of this release also resembles the melodic, moody immersive pieces of a band like Black Funeral. The new vocals have all of the whispering abrasive sound that made Joined in Darkness sound like a conversation with darkness. While not as intense as JiD, it captures BM's essential fury! Favorite track: Empire Of The Fallen Angel.

connor Outstanding re imagining of a USBM classic. I loved the original Empire of the Fallen Angel and really enjoyed this heavy, sinister reinterpretation of those songs. Favorite track: Nightsong (Apocalyptic Dawn).

N. Lord This re-recording casts these songs in an entirely new un-light, giving much more of a sense of depth and obscurity to what was already an excellent collection of songs. Favorite track: The Obsidian Age Of Ice.
